SATURDAY: SAM Allardyce declares a truce with Glenn Hoddle after criticising the Spurs' manager for unsettling his striker Michael Ricketts with two 'approaches' on the eve of the new season and the day before the transfer deadline.
SUNDAY
THERE'S more pain at White Hart Lane for Wanderers as they go down 3-1 - a result that sees them plunge to the foot of the table. There was hope when Youri Djorkaeff put Wanderers level at 1-1 but Spurs went on to breach the Wanderers defence twice more before the final whistle.
MONDAY
SAM Allardyce threatens to wield the axe in the wake of the Tottenham defeat with the defence looking to be his likely target. Allardyce said: "The back four are old stagers and they have done well for us in the past but they are looking a bit edgy at the moment."
TUESDAY
ALLARDYCE admits he is ready to go back to basics in a bid to repeat last season's successful season. Restricted from bringing in any new faces by the new transfer rules the Reebok boss says he is determined to get the best out of the players at his disposal.
WEDNESDAY
WANDERERS are given a boost when Bruno N'Gotty and Paul Warhurst are included for the Reserves' trip to play Birmingham.
Meanwhile at Birmingham, the Reserves picked up their first point of the season when Okocha scored in a 1-1 draw.
THURSDAY
MIDFIELD man Nicky Southall. currently on loan to First Division side Norwich City, says he is hoping to turn the deal into a permanent move with negotiations possibly coming up around Christmas time. At the Reebok there is relief all round as N'Gotty and Warhurst both show no reaction following their outing in the Reserves.
FRIDAY
FORMER Sunderland manager Peter Reid, who left the Stadium of Light three weeks ago reckons the upcoming clash between Wanderers and the Black Cats is too close to call. But he does point out that the Wanderers defence will need to be alert to snuff out what looks to be a potent attack with Kevin Phillips back in the hunt for goals.
