THE trial of a farmer charged with manslaughter following the death of a teenager in his farmyard was due to start today.
Adam Dixon, aged 33, was expected to appear at Manchester Crown Court and is also charged with possessing a .22 revolver.
He denies both charges.
Carl Berry, aged 19, of Chorley Old Road, died at Sheephouse Farm, Smithills Dean Road, Smithills, last December, from a single gunshot wound.
The trial is expected to last four days.
An inquest into his death is due to be held at Bolton Coroner's Court later this year.
