Radcliffe Boro 2 Chester City 4 - IT was good while it lasted but Radcliffe's FA Cup ride was derailed by FA Conference outfit Chester City at Stainton Park.
Borough matched their opponents in all areas in the first-half, with Chester having to resort to long-ball tactics.
After the break, Radcliffe took the game to their Conference rivals but against the run of play they went behind to a Ryan Sugden goal on the hour mark followed by another eight minutes later.
Sub Dave Cameron hit a third but a super Jody Banim free-kick gave Borough a glimmer of hope
However Chester sealed the win as Sugden completed his hat-trick but Neil Hardy had the final word with a 25 yard injury time cracker.
There was also a cash consolation for Boro with over 1,100 fans watching the game, despite Bury also being at home.
An injury-time cracker from 25 yards courtesy of Neil Hardy proved to be mere consolation for a Borough outfit that was by no means disgraced, although Chester's class did prevail and it is them who deservedly go through to the next round.
