MORE than 1,000 youngsters across Greater Manchester security marked 12,804 mobile phones to set a new world record.
The event last weekend came under Operation Hawk -- an initiative to cut street crime.
PC Phil Gleave, of Greater Manchester Police's community affairs branch, said: "It proved to be a fantastic event. We hope that their efforts will help reduce street crime."
