DAVID Gaffin has found a novel way of meeting customers as he starts his new job as store manager at Asda in Horwich.
To turn heads and to help raise funds for Children in Need, Mr Gaffin will be sitting in a bath of spaghetti on Saturday and inviting shoppers to open a can and tip it in.
Last year the store collected £3,000 for the charity during a week of fundraising, and this year staff hope to make £10,000.
Mr Gaffin, who has just arrived at the store, said: "When this was suggested, I was only too happy to take part. This will be a great way to meet the customers -- even if it is a bit cold and sticky."
The store's event co-ordinator, Elaine Cleworth, will also be joining in the fun and sitting in the bath of spaghetti.
Children will also have the chance to meet Pudsey Bear, the Children in Need mascot, when he visits the store on Monday, November 11, between 4.15pm and 5.15pm. The Children in Need day itself is on November 15.
