TWO new champions were crowned in the Hastings Direct National Tennis Championships at Bolton Arena.
Defending women's champion Hannah Collin, who was hoping to win a record-breaking third title in four years, was beaten 6-4 6-4 by number three seed Anne Keothavong.
Collin's exit is the second major shock of the championships, following the departure of reigning men's champion Lee Childs, who went out to powerful left-hander Martin Lee earlier in the week.
In that event, Alex Bogdanovic, the Belgrade-born 18-year-old, will be hoping to go one step better at this year's championships after smartly coming through his tough semi-final showdown with number one seed Martin Lee.
Bogdanovic, who was a beaten finalist at Bolton last year, triumphed 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 against his Sussex opponent.
Bogdanovic, who has set a target of increasing his ranking over the coming months - surprisingly without the help of a coach - will play Jamie Delgado in today's men's showpiece final .
Delgado, 25, showed fighting spirit to come from behind and beat Bolton-based Jonny Marray - ranked 886 - 3-6 6-4 7-5 in his semi-final clash.
