Westhoughton Lions U11s 30
Oldham St Anne's U11s 0
This was not a game for the purist: played in atrocious conditions, but it was a credit to both teams that the game took place at all.

The conditions were such that constructive rugby went out of the window and a number of tries were scored by players who did not have a finger laid on them, never mind a tackle!

Saddleworth U9s 8
The Lions decided to play against the wind for the first half and truly dominated the midfield with strong forward play. It therefore came as no surprise when half time came and Saddleworth, losing by two tries, decided that enough was enough when faced with having to play against the wind in the second half and asked for an abandonment of the match, much to the disappointment of the Lions forwards who had truly relished the first half.
Westhoughton Lions U8s 12
Saddleworth U8s 28
Poor Lions' defence was responsible for allowing the Saddleworth team to run away with the game in the second half, with the gale force wind and driving rain in the Lions' faces.
It was a credit to the passing of acting half back Tom Price that even
in the dreadful conditions, the Lions only knocked on once, while Jacob
Hartwell stuck well to his task in both attack and defence, and earned
the Man of the Match award in only his second match. The tries came from
Top Tackler, Stephen Haydock, Jamie Cloran and Coaches' Award winner,
Dominic Quinn. The Most Improved Player was Patrick O'Brien.
