TWO policemen have been interviewed over allegations that they carried out a serious sexual assault on a woman.
The officers, who both work in Bolton, are alleged to have attacked the victim in Chorley.
They were interviewed by police in Lancashire and were bailed pending further advice from the Crown Prosecution Service.
The two men have not been suspended by Greater Manchester Police.
A spokesman for the force said: "Two serving Greater Manchester Police officers have been interviewed and bailed.
"This follows an allegation of a serious sexual nature made against the officers.
"The allegation was reported by a woman in Chorley."
Superintendent Chris Weigh, of Lancashire Constabulary, added: "A police investigation is under way and we can confirm that two serving Greater Manchester Police officers were arrested in connection with the allegation."
