Bolton 1st XI 4, Cheetham & Heywood 2 - BOLTON took victory as they welcomed new signing Rob Betts and the return of Steve Way.
The game started well with a Way shot rebounding off the keeper only for Scotsman Aitken to volley for the first goal.
Bolton pushed again, this time Way made the goal his own finding the back of the net with a clean strike.
But a mistake by Luke and Dean allowed C&H to make it 2-1.
Seizing the initiative C&H pushed forward and were equalised with a penalty stroke, despite Neville guessing the right way.
Bolton bounced back at the start of the second half as Owen played a one-two with Aitken, and then pushed the ball under the goalkeeper for number three.
Bolton then lost captain Williams due to injury, while C&H had two players sent off for misconduct and verbal abuse respectively.
Short then completed the scoring with a penalty stroke.

A FIRST half brace from Pearse set the inexperienced Seconds on their way to a resounding victory against a more mature team. Despite early efforts by the opposition, the established defence of Turner, Smith, Goldsborough, Davies and Guest provided a platform from which the youngsters performed admirably.
But Pearse's strikes changed the game and the outstanding Jones made it three in the second half.

HOLLY Dean began the rout for BHC with a goal after just eight minutes in the first round of the EHA Vase.
Kate Froggatt quickly added a second before Vicky Warburton made it three before half-time. broke through the defence and struck home a great shot.
In previous weeks BHC had not managed to keep up the pressure in the second half, but that was not true here as Jenny Cocker hit the fourth following good work by woman of the match Ashton Duerden.
Holly Dean then bagged another two, one a reverse stick flick on the turn in front of the goalkeeper.
The rout was completed when great play out of defence saw the ball slickly passed through the team before Robyn Smith knocked a cross field ball in at the far post.
