RESIDENTS living near land earmarked for a new housing development in Darcy Lever, Bolton, were today taking their protest over the plans to councillors.
Darcy Lever Residents Association was lobbying a visit by councillors to the site off Radcliffe Road where Shepherd Homes hopes to build 130 two-storey houses.
Protesters say the development would be excessive and would restrict the amount of green space that could be used by local people.
They are also worried about the possible loss of local wildlife in the area and traffic congestion on Radcliffe Road.
Gloria Gaffney, from the Greater Manchester Pedestrian Association, said: "We will meet with the councillors and voice our opinions about the building of the houses and all the problems we feel this will bring."
Councillors were due to consider the plans after visiting the site of the proposed development.
