Oldham 64 Tyldesley 21 - WHEN you travel to face the unbeaten league leaders it normally helps to take your strongest side possible.

However Tyldesley RU were denied that luxury as a total of six changes from the previous week were forced on them.

The patched up side did its best but a strong and confident home side rattled up the tries at regular intervals. Tyldesley's only reward in a hard first half was a try from Andy Dickinson converted by stand off Fraser Mackintosh.

The second period went much way of the first with Oldham again finding their rythmn but another Dickinson try was added to by Ian Worsfold with Mackintosh converting both.

On another day Tyldesley could have made abetter fist of things but events and more importantly the availability of key players was always going against a Tyldesley side still waiting to get in to the groove this season. On Saturday Penrith visit St George's Park, kick off 2.30pm.

Tyldesley Knights also suffered from a number of changes and went down to leaders Oldham by 28-7. A brave second half performance saw a try for young scrum half Paul Martin but despite a little rally Tyldesley could find no more in reserve to mount a comeback.

Tyldesley Dragons had their game called off with a total of 16 players unavailable.
