ALMOST £500,000 has been set aside to keep the Commonwealth Games Volunteer Army marching on at future events.
The United Nations, Sport England and Manchester Utd are among bodies showing an interest in using the volunteers.
Manchester City Council says they came from all backgrounds and added their own talents to training they received, helping to make the Games a success.
The 17,000 volunteers were used to steward events, provide medical cover and play host to visitors.
