BOLTON is apparently just a grim town full of Mancunians.
Without trying to sound too much like Alan Partridge those are not my words but those of Top Gear maga... er, I mean the Birmingham City matchday programme.
The article in last week's official programme previewing Saturday's game between Blues and Wanderers reads like a red rag to a bull to any self-respecting Boltonian.
The first two paragraphs of writer Karim Adab's piece says: "From a town so grim they had to build it's team's stadium miles out in the countryside, Sam Allardyce's Wanderers travel next to St Andrews.
"This double-whammy in the space of a week (Birmingham played Manchester City last week) means that at least we only have to entertain one more set of Manc sorts (United) this season."
True, Bolton may not be Barcelona.
But for a football club of any standing - let alone one in the Premiership - to authorise an article which ridicules the town and calls the fans the one thing guaranteed to wind them up is a disgrace.
