PREMIER Division Champions Ramsbotton A closed the gap on the current leaders Hilton Tameside to two points following their comprehensive 9-0 win over their B team.

Farnworth in third spot were beaten 5-4 by Hilton A and Cricketers and Lostock both enjoyed 7-2 wins.

Carlton, who have played one more match than their rivals move to the top of the First Division with a 7-2 win over Little Lever B, which included trebles by Ian Quinn and Kevin Chapman.

John Scowcroft also trebled for Heaton A who beat Nomads 7-2 .

Division Two leaders Ramsbottom C scored a narrow 5-4 win over BEN A, which gives them a two point advantage over Heaton C.

Sub Alan Entwistle won three sets for Halliwell Meths who lost 5-4 at Ladybridge B, and Steve Barber's three wins helped Heaton D win 6-3 at Egerton Park.

Trebles were recorded by Ian Lansdale and Chris Sutcliffe for Little Lever C who won 8-1 at Rushtons.

The Hilton F trio of Craig Bradbury, Brian Hall and Dave Tobin scored maximum points against Farnworth to consolidate their top spot in Division Three.

Ramsbottom D, currently lying in second place lost 7-2 at Hilton E, and third in the table Hilton D lost 7-2 to Ladybridge D.

Ladybridge C won 8-1 against lowly Ellesmere, and Hilton H and Little Lever D won their matches with a 6-3 score line. Phil Noden trebled for Meadow Hill A which helped them score a 5-4 win at Hilton G.

YMCA who top Division Four ran out 7-2 winners against Ladybridge F, which included three wins by Ray Wheatley.

Hilton I in second place beat Heaton G, three wins here for Lee Davenport, but Heaton F in third place went one better winning 8-1 against Meadow Hill.

Hilton J beat their K team 8-1. BEN B won 7-2 against Jubilee, and Hilton L won 6-3 at Ellesmere.
