BOLTON Ladies Hockey Club's current injury problems continued to hamper their progress on Saturday, as they met a high-flying Bowdon team with only nine fit players and suffered a 6-1 defeat.

Despite a dogged effort and endless running to try and cover the gaps around the pitch, Bolton were unable to prevent four goals being put past them in the first half, without reply.

In the second half, a tactical switch helped to keep the goals conceded to only two, and Bolton managed a consolation score by Sue Booth, after some good work on the right wing by Louise Heaney.

Woman of the match was Bolton goalkeeper Nicky Davies, who made a string of terrific saves.
