RADCLIFFE'S under 14s water polo squad again showed the great strides they have made this year by winning both their games at the Northern Counties Finals held at the Manchester Aquatic centre.
The young side faced local rivals Rochdale in their opening game and totally outclassed them 7-3. It was a toiugher task in the second game but they came out on top 4-3 over Chester.
Chester were the opponents in their second game and Radcliffe again started quickly and won 4-3.
The squad representing Radcliffe was assembled from the Bury Metro development group, brought together by an initiative assisted by Bury sport development headed by Rob Kennedy. Their support has played a major part of a very successful year in which the young squad surprised everyone by winning the Greater Manchester Youth Games and finished a comfortable 5th out of 16 teams in the Northern Counties Championships, at their first attempt.
