A 79-YEAR-OLD woman broke her arm chasing a robber who snatched her handbag.
He pushed her to the pavement as she walked home from a nearby post office in New Hall Lane, Heaton, at 2.24pm yesterday, then snatched her handbag containing a small amount of cash.
The woman, who has not been named, got up and tried to chase him, but she fell over and broke her arm. The pensioner was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where she is recovering today.
The robber was white, 6ft, in his 20s, wearing a navy blue top, shorts and trainers. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Astley Bridge CID on 0161 856 5740, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
