Horwich RMI Harriers ladies had another successful cross-country outing last Saturday with wins in three categories.
In the second SE Lancs fixture held at Springfield Park, Rochdale the O/35s and O/40s ladies were all successful.
Leading the way for the Harriers was Jan Rashleigh who finished an excellent third and first Lady O/40.
Suzanne Budgett continues to improve and put in a terrific performance as she came fifth (second L35).
Completing the senior winning team was Gaynor Higson, with a solid run, in 10th (third L35). Audrey Foster continues to thrive in this discipline, finishing 24th (first L50).
Horwich's first counter in the men's race was Neil Wrigley in 18th with super vet Tony Hesketh right on his heels in 19th (first V50).
The men's Vets O/ 40 team won their category.
A beautiful Autumn day greeted the cream of this country's road runners at Sutton Park Birmingham for the National 6 Stage Road Relay Championships.
The high quality field was to prove a massive test for the Horwich RMI Harriers Men's team.
Hopes were high and a target was set of possibly bettering the club's best ever finish of 19th back in 1992.
As it turned out one or two of the team were not quite right on the day, including Paul Muller who was suffering from a heavy cold.
However, everyone performed as well as they could and the effort and spirit was great. The team finished 31st out of 63 teams.
The day after competing for the Harriers in the National 6 Stage Relays Rob Jackson had a great run in the Fell Dancer Race You to the Summit fell race.
Rob (31.25) was only narrowly beaten by W Ali (31.21). The atrocious weather conditions certainly made it a tough event, while Chris Heys had a good run to finish third (32.19).
