PHIL Vievers is the new assistant coach of Leigh Centurions following the shock resignations of Norman Turley and Darren Abram.
Vievers has quit as head coach of Swinton Lions to move over to Hilton Park as number two to Paul Terzis.
Vievers, who previously coached Huddersfield in Super League after a distinguished playing career with St Helens, will also act as coach of the Under 21s Academy team next season.
Tommy Cunningham, Leigh's Chief Executive explained the changes. "Norman was out of contract at the end of the season and Paul decided he wanted new faces. Darren Abram was offered the joint position of Paul's assistant and the U21's coach but declined to take up the offer.
Turley has been with his hometown club for six years while Abram has guided Leigh's Academy side to two successive Grand Finals.
"It is very sad to see them leave but we must plan ahead, and with the experience Phil Vievers can bring to Leigh, I am sure he will be a quality addition to Paul's backroom squad."
Leigh have signed utility back David Alstead from Warrington Wolves.
