BOLTON will be transformed into a winter wonderland as the town's Christmas celebrations get under way.
The grand festive parade and switch-on of the lights will take place on November 21.
Included in the line-up for the parade will be members of the cast from Dick Whittington -- this year's panto at The Albert Halls, starring TV personalities Paul Crone and Bernard Wrigley.
They will be joined by giant seasonal characters, including Rudolph the Reindeer, six snowmen and a host of other favourites such as the Chewitts Dinosaur, Brewster the Bear and Derian Dog. Also making an appearance will be RJ's Majorettes and Eagley Brass Band.
The procession will weave its way through the streets of Bolton, starting from the Pack Horse, on Bradshawgate, at 6.15pm.
In Victoria Square there will be a full programme of entertainment, including performances from local young musical entertainers Saturday Kids Club, three-piece singing and dancing group La Caj, Lofty the Lion and favourites from Bolton Wanderers, boy band Al!ve and singing duo Vogue.
