Lees double helps leaders Woodbank stay top of pile
IN another reduced league programme due to bad weather leaders Woodbank in the U11s stay ahead of the field thanks to a Lees double and further goals from Handley, Wilson and McGaide against Oxford Grove.
In the other game in this division, Westhoughton Rangers had a great win over Lads Club with Shepherd bagging a brace.
The only game in the U12 saw Atherton LR keep leaders Lads Club at bay and bag a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
It was Jubilee Cup time in the U13 and CMB Juniors move into the next round with a convincing win over Eagley Rangers In the other all First Division tie, AFC Park advance in the cup with a thrilling win over Lads Club. Wigan Jnr Latics and Hindley Jnrs had big wins in the U14 as Hindley took over the top spot in Division Two.
Westhoughton Rangers had their third win the LFA Youth Cup in defeating Stand Athletics but are still finding it hard in the league. Hopefully this good run will turn their season around.
