Blackrod Town 1 Kirkham & Wesham 2 - BLACKROD competed superbly over the full 90 minutes but were unlucky to lose the Richardson Cup tie against their high flying opponents Kirkham & Wesham 2-1.
Kirkham went ahead on 20 minutes but five minutes later Lee Powell outjumped the Fylde side's defence to head in the equaliser from David Sutch's corner.
Kirkham scored again and Blackrod failed to find a second equaliser to force the tie into extra time.
Blackrod reserves drew 2-2 at Freckleton extending the unbeaten run of league games to 10 under the management team of Frank Armstrong, Tony Haydock and Eddie Slater and remain fourth in the table.
