THE last animal to be re-homed following the closure of Leigh's Lilford Animal Park in March is now happily settled at Heybrook Community Farm in Lowton.
Lilford closed following advice from an independent consultant, and revised government guidelines on the keeping of animals.
All the other 325 former "residents" are now enjoying new lives in places such as Manchester's Heaton Park, a rural animal centre in Wakefield and a donkey sanctuary in Devon.
