A PENSIONER has criticised Bolton Council for not cutting a down a tree he claims is dangerous.
Alan Roberts, of St James Street, Farnworth says that the council promised to fell the 50-year-old ash tree in February.
The 65-year-old said that its roots were causing structural damage to houses and that branches were growing out of control over their rooftops.
Mr Roberts said: "It's a disgrace. We asked the council to cut down the tree in February but when they came they hardly trimmed it at all.
"The roots have caused a lot of damage to houses on the street. One neighbour has got a crack running through a wall because of the roots."
A council spokesman said: "We have pruned it in the past and we will prune it again next year."
