A trek up Rivington Pike is always a popular tradition on Good Friday - if the weather is reasonable, anyway!
One of these pictures shows that even in 1928 people walked there (note the clothes, in particlar the hats); the other, taken just 50 years later, in 1978, shows walkers Jane Billington, Anita Howarth, Pamela Sanjuan, all 14, and Angela Kilsby 13, braving the chilly wind at the top of the Pike.
