A DIVING enthusiast who had a brush with Jaws as he swam with sharks has raised £1,000 for a children's charity.
Robert Minshall, aged 19, of New Tongfield, Bromley Cross, dived with the sharks in their viewing tank at the Blue Planet Aquarium in Ellesmere Port.
The Salford University student, who raised the money for the Children's Hospital Appeal Trust, now hopes to dive with sharks again.
He said: "The dive was absolutely fantastic -- it was so unreal. The sharks were inches away and we weren't in a safety cage."
He got involved in the dive after reading an advert promoting the event in the Bolton Evening News.
Robert has recently returned from a diving holiday in the Red Sea and has been diving for two years at Salford University and has gained his teaching qualification from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors.
