FAMOUS soul singer Edwin Starr will be the star attraction at a New Year's Eve event.
The American, who is most famous for his song "War", will be appearing at the De Vere White's Hotel on the biggest party night of the year.
Roland Ayling, manager of the Middlebrook complex, said he was keen to attract a series of top-notch acts instead of "here today, gone tomorrow music".
As well as Edwin Starr, there will also be performances over Christmas from tribute acts featuring the music of artists such as Abba, Queen, Madonna, George Michael and The Temptations.
The party nights will run between December 6 and January 3 and cost between £27.50 and £39.50, including cabaret, dinner, Irish prize bingo and a late disco.
Mr Ayling said: "We think the public are getting a bit weary of warbling teenagers and talentless one-hit wonders.
"We wanted real cabaret. We're offering the public music with maturity, not pseudo pop idols."
