TWO cheeky fundraising calendars are being launched . . . especially for the girls.
One features the muscular men at Jay's Gym in Horwich.
They have decided to strip off to raise money in memory of black belt karate instructor Dave Smith who died of cancer at the age of 33
The other calendar features under-threat farmer Arnold Davenport and his supporters in Harwood.
They have bared their flesh to raise funds to help him fight eviction from his farm.
Members of Jay's Gym in Telford Street decided to raise money for Christie Hospital as a tribute to their mate Dave.
Jon Tuplin, aged 23, owner of Jay's Gym, said: "Dave raised a lot of money for charity even when he had cancer, so we want to carry that on in his honour. He was a really popular lad.
"Everyone agreed that the calendar would be good fun."
The tasteful photos were taken by gym member Peter Barry.
Mr Davenport has been fighting a lengthy battle against eviction from Nab Gate Farm where he has lived for 43 years.
Ann-Marie Broadley, from the Harwood Action Group supporting him, said: "We had no shortage of men wanting to help out and bare their chests for the calendar photographs. In fact, we were turning men away.
"We have been asked by the women if they can have their own calendar -- but they say not for another 12 months when they will have lost a little bit of weight."
Mr Davenport faces a two-day case at Bolton County Court later this month to halt his eviction by landowner Christopher Holt who wants to sell the farm. The calendar supporting him has been called Arnold and his Merry Men and features photographs by Frank Green.
Mr Davenport is opposing an eviction order which was served in summer at his home Nab Gate Farm, Harwood.
Landowner Christopher Holt wants to sell the Stitch-mi-Lane farm to a developer.
In protest, Mr Davenport staged a rooftop demonstration saying he should not be forced from his home. Mr Davenport's calendar is on sale at Harwood Post Office or Rushton's newsagents at Bradshaw, priced £4.99. The Jay's Gym calendar will be on sale at the gym from later this month.
