A WINDOW blind fitter dishonestly obtained money at his employer's expense, a court heard.
Father-of-two Damian Jackson admitted theft and taking money from two customers by falsely saying they would get blinds for which they had paid.
Mr Mike Church-Taylor, prosecuting, said the matters were serious because they were committed while in a position of trust.
Jackson, aged 30, of Wash Lane, Bury, admitted at Rochdale magistrates court stealing £140 belonging to Mike Goldrick Window Blinds, of Heywood, stealing window blinds worth £170 and two offences of deception in which he obtained a total of £130 from two customers by falsely representing that they would receive window blinds for the money they had paid.
Jackson was made the subject of a 60-hour community punishment order and was told to pay £440 compensation.
Defence lawyer Mr Colin Davidson said Jackson, a man of previous good character, had intended to put the money back when he got his wages. He was deeply ashamed.
