BIG-HEARTED regulars at a Leigh pub are getting together on Saturday to raise cash for one of their fellow drinkers.
A charity day has been organised to raise cash to buy a motorised wheelchair for Albert White. Albert, a regular customer at the Three Crowns on Chapel Street, Leigh, suffers from Parkinson's Disease and has difficulty walking.
When the wheelchair was mentioned, kind-hearted staff and customers wanted to help and have been raising funds for the past few weeks.
"We have held a number of collections and have already accumulated £500," said landlords Bernard and Liz Reid.
Regulars Christopher Reid and Stephen Coffey will tackle a sponsored five mile run from the pub to Howe Bridge Sports Centre and back again.
Throughout the day and night the pub will stage an auction and raffle and thanks to local businesses and customers have some fabulous prizes on offer.
