work should start next week to improve an unadopted Whitefield street.
On Monday, resurfacing and widening of the existing sett-paved road will start between the end of the houses on Philips Park Road West and the entrance to the Whitefield Hebrew Congregation Burial Ground.
The work will include site clearance, drainage, kerbing, carriageway surfacing and the construction of a new footway, and is expected to take about 10 weeks. The street will then be adopted and Bury Council will be responsible for its future maintenance.
