ONCE again Mike Riley has ruined a game at the Reebok Stadium. His decisions are bemusing to spectators.
The only consistency he seems to have is to look for a player's reaction. If a man goes down writhing in agony, then the opponent has obviously commited a serious foul and receives a red card.
Jason Roberts got Bruno Ngotty sent off by his reaction to an innocuous challenge. I have watched the video replay over and over again and can see nothing to warrant even a yellow card.
The fact that Wanderers got the subsequent free kick adds to the mystery.
Two of the West Brom bookings were for good tackles and the reaction of the crowd influenced Mr Riley to produce the yellow card.
In fact the only deserved card was Ivan Campo's clumsy challenge in the first half. Last season against Leicester the reaction of Robbie Savage to challenges by Paul Warhurst and Dean Holdsworth got the players sent off while earlier in the game a terrible two footed tackle by Savage on Colin Hendry went unpunished because Colin got up and walked away.
