NO change at the top of the Premier Division. Leaders Ramsbottom A won at Lostock 5-4 despite a treble by Steve Stringer for Lostock, Phil Biggs trebled for Hilton Tameside in second place in their win, as did Jim Chadwick for Cricketers and Ron Durose for Little Lever.

In Division One Greg Lee scored an excellent treble for Wingates who won 7-2 at Chorley Old Road, and Mosses moved up to fourth place following their 6-3 win at Heaton B, which included three wins by Stuart Landes. Mick Dunn trebled for Heaton A in their 6-3 win over Ladybridge.

Little Lever C moved seven points clear at the top of Division Two with a 6-3 win over Heaton C, Barry Dobbins scoring the three wins for Heaton. Ramsbottom C are in second spot after their comprehensive 7-2 defeat of bottom team Hilton C, which included three wins apiece for Joe Walk and Derrick Buckley. Trebles were scored by Mike Audsley for BEN A, Dave Holden on his debut for Heaton D, and Geoff Hall for Halls, in their team's respective wins. All three Nomads players won two sets in their win.

Meadow Hill A in second place in Division Three closed the gap on leaders Hilton F to five points, following their 7-2 victory at Hilton E, which included trebles by Phil Noden and Steve Jones.

Ramsbottom D jump to third place after winning 6-3 at Little Lever, and Ladybridge D are now fourth despite losing 5-4 to their C team, for whom John Birchall trebled. John Kofi trebled for Farnworth, as did Paul Jackson for Ellesmere, but their teams lost by a 5-4 scoreline but, George Dawson scored three wins for Hilton G who won 5-4.

The Hilton I trio, Lee Davenport, Alan Revell and Steve Roz scored maximum points against Ladybridge F to move to the top of Division Four, six points ahead of Hilton K with a match in hand. The K team also scored maximum points against bottom team Ellesmere. Three wins apiece for John Birchall Snr and Fred Parker, plus two by Gary Parker for Ladybridge E who beat Hilton L 8-1. Two matches finished with a 6-3 scoreline, Hilton J winning at Heaton F and Jubilee against Heaton G. Trebles in the matches for Eamon McEntee for Hilton and Brian Lomax for Heaton G.

Next week is the First Round of the Divisional Cups, and any team who have a bye in the competition and have outstanding league fixtures are requested to try and re-arrange if possible.
