I WRITE as a so-called "white" resident of Daubhill, and find the allegations made by Mr Harkin about the Tory campaign offensive.
It just shows how desperate and worried Mr Harkin must be.
Using Mr Harkin's analogy, is he saying that the two Asian Labour councillors elected last May were only voted for by the Asian community? Had the Conservatives made the same allegations, there would have been outrage.
I would assume that many different members of their communities elected these councillors on their merits, as will be the case for Mr Yakub Jiva for the Conservatives.
To try and portray the Tories as divisive and threatening the stability of the community is an absolute disgrace. Him making such unfounded accusations and playing the race card is the one that is undermining its stability, he should be ashamed.
He urges Daubhill residents to vote for the party that they feel will best represent them.
Looking at his comments and performance, it will certainly not be Labour.
