CLAUDIO Ranieri has the kind of selection headache that Sam Allardyce can only dream of ahead of the Reebok clash between Wanderers and Chelsea this week.

The Stamford Bridge boss has the in-form Gianfranco Zola and former Wanderer Eidur Gudjohnsen at his disposal, but they will be fighting for a starting place with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Gudjohnsen will be desperate to start on his return to the Reebok, where he scored for Chelsea in the corresponding fixture last year and he will want to remind the Whites fans once more of his talent for goals.

Hasselbaink has not hit the scoring heights of previous years so far, but had hit goals in two consecutive fixtures against West Brom and Manchester City before he suffered a groin injury against Spurs a fortnight ago.

He will be hoping to continue that form when he comes up against a Wanderers defence that has kept just one clean sheet at home this season.

Veteran Zola has been in top form with nine goals thus far, while former Bolton forward Gudjohnsen has also been playing well of late.

Youngster Carlton Cole, who has impressed when given a rare chance in the first team and scored twice against Gillingham in the Worthington Cup two weeks ago, may not even make the bench as Ranieri puts his faith in experience.

While the Italian boss has plenty of options up front, things are a little more problematic in goal, despite Carlo Cudicini again proving himself to be one of the best keepers in the Premiership.

Ed de Goey is also available after a back injury, but the news that has dominated the London club for the last nine days has concerned Mark Bosnich. The Australian was alleged by a Sunday newspaper to have tested positive for cocaine use and last week admitted himself into a depression unit. Although he has rarely featured for the Blues since joining from Manchester United almost two years ago, the affair has cast a shadow over the high-flying club.

On a brighter note, defender Celestine Babayaro had plenty to celebrate last week when, alongside Bolton's Jay-Jay Okocha, he was awarded Nigeria's civilian honour for his services to the national football side.

Other Blues on the international stage are French trio Marcel Desailly, Emmanuel Petit and William Gallas who are set to represent their country in a friendly against Yugoslavia on Wednesday.

Petit returns to the squad after being dropped for their Euro 2004 qualifier with Malta last month. Gallas is set to receive his second international cap alongside defensive partner Desailly, who will again skipper the side.

Meanwhile misfit Winston Bogarde broke down with a leg injury during last week's reserve outing against Wimbledon.
