A PENSIONER who was sent an incorrect gas bill for a whopping £5,683 has slammed the company -- for sending the bill to him AGAIN.

Peter Bdzola could not believe his eyes when Southern Electric Gas posted another final demand for payment, asking him to send the cash within seven days.

He thought the situation had been resolved last month after he received his second bill and complained to the firm. When the Bolton Evening News contacted the firm last month, a spokesman confirmed Mr Bdzola would not be asked to pay that amount.

But the 76-year-old said his fears returned when he opened the envelope -- and saw his third bill for the same amount.

Mr Bdzola said: "I can understand them making a mistake once or even twice. But I have now had three bills and I've lost sleep over this. It could send someone to an early grave."

His bill should have been £40.60p. Southern Electric, which sent the bill shortly after Mr Bdzola changed supplier to British Gas, said the pensioner had read his meter incorrectly.

A spokesman added, however: "We made a mistake and we would like to apologise to the customer."
