BOLTON Wanderer's management duo Sam Allardyce and Phil Brown kicked off the town's Children In Need fundraising efforts in style with a charity penalty shoot-out.

Sam and Phil took time out from preparing for Sunday's Premiership clash with Leeds to take part in the charity event at the club's training ground at Euxton, near Chorley.

Players Ivan Campo and Jussi Jaaskelienen also joined them for the shoot-out against Graham Warner and Dieter Clausnitzer, of Manchester-based insurance broker, Manson Warner Healthcare. The event raised £3,000.

The Wanderer's boss said he was delighted to have taken part in the shoot-out to raise cash for such a worthy cause as Children In Need.

Sam added: "Children In Need is such a worthy cause to get involved with and we are only too happy to help.

"I am a great supporter of Children In Need. I think it's brilliant how everyone in the country gets involved to raise money for the charity, and best of all it helps children who live in the local area."
