GREAT Britain can still win the trophy up for grabs in the Don't Drink Drive Test Series with New Zealand, even though they can only draw the series.
The Kiwis, who won the first Test 30-18, ensured they cannot be beaten when they held on for a 14-14 draw at Huddersfield yesterday.
But, following talks between the Rugby Football League and the New Zealand management, it has been agreed that, if the Lions win the final match at Wigan's JJB Stadium on Saturday to square the series, they will lift the Albert Baskerville Trophy, named in honour of the pioneering Kiwi.
RFL executive chairman Richard Lewis said: "New Zealand feel that, because the Albert Baskerville Trophy was inaugurated by ourselves, that they must win it from us. We compliment them on their magnanimous and sporting attitude.
"For our part, we feel that if the Lions do win the third Test, then they will fully deserve to lift this magnificent trophy."
Also to be awarded on Saturday night will be the George Smith Medal to the man of the series.
