Barnet 4 Leigh RMI 0 by Martyn Hindley
RMI's winning LEIGH RMI's recent purple patch in the Conference came to an abrupt end at Underhill as they were comprehensively thrashed by Barnet.
The Bees had never beaten the Railwaymen in three previous meetings, but Steve Waywell was without the services of key defender Neil Durkin and it told as Peter Shreeves' men ran riot.
Ben Strevens had scored from the penalty spot in the season's earlier meeting between the two sides but with less than 20 minutes played in this one, he inadvertantly turned provider.
The lively forward collided with Stuart Coburn in the area, and with home players and fans appealing for a spot-kick in unison play seemed to stop for a moment only for Barnet to break the deadlock the deadlock through Mark Gower.
The visitors seemed completely ill at ease with their opponents' slick interplay and it was little surprise when Barnet doubled their advantage.
Three minutes before the break, Junior Agogo drilled home after Gower had again been involved in the build-up.
Agogo is one of the division's hottest properties and helped himself to a place at the top of the scoring charts with a classic goal 15 minutes from time - racing half the length of the field and beating two men before a stunning long-range effort gave the keeper no chance.
In between times though, the ex-league side had put the game beyond doubt when Strevens' shot was deflected into the net.
Fog engulfed Underhill towards the end, but it didn't change RMI fortunes.
Dino Maamria failed to hit the target with two second half efforts whileNeil Fisher's shot flew inches wide of the post.
