BOLTON's health watchdog, the Community Health Council, is holding an open evening to set up the town's shadow patients' forum.

The forums are to allow local people to make their voices heard in developing and monitoring local NHS services.

The shadow forum will eventually replace the community health council after new measures were introduced by the Goverment.

A Bolton CHC spokesman said: "We want to make sure that all people in Bolton have the opportunity to take part in the new organisations .

"We want to pass on our knowledge and expertise so that there is a seamless transition to the new bodies and they will be effective right from the beginning."

People are being urged to step forward and will be able to chat with CHC members at the open night event which will be staged at the Walker Memorial Hall, Victoria Hall, Ridgeway Gates, on Tuesday, November 26.

Those unable to attend but who want to get involved are urged to contact the CHC on 01204 377023.
