A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a jeep accident on waste land in Little Hulton.
A Jeep was being driven up a hill on land off Manchester Road West when it flipped over backwards onto its roof a number of times and rolled back down -- throwing a man out of the vehicle.
The semi-conscious man -- believed to be in his late 30s -- was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital, shortly after the accident, which happened at 2pm yesterday. He is in a stable condition.
A spokesman for the North-west air ambulance said his injuries were not thought to be serious.
A police spokesman said they had not been involved, as it was not a road traffic accident and there were no other vehicles involved.
A North-west air ambulance spokesman said: "He was trying to go up an incline and didn't make it. There were a lot of other cars and bikes there as well. The car rolled backwards and he was ejected.
"The car came off its wheels and onto its roof, which threw the man out of the vehicle.
"We don't know how far he had gone upwards but there was substantial damage to the jeep."
