SAM Allardyce has promised to fast-track Delroy Facey into his Premiership attack, if he continues scoring goals for Bradford City.

The Wanderers' boss was delighted to hear that the former Huddersfield striker was on target just eight minutes into his debut after joining the Bantams on a month's loan - even though his own strikers are struggling to find the net.

"Hopefully he will carry on scoring for Bradford and bring that sort of form back here when he returns to us," he said. "He will certainly get the opportunity to go straight in, possibly off the bench, if he keeps on scoring."

Despite Facey's early strike, Bradford went down 5-3 to Wimbledon at Valley Parade after having their other loan star from Bolton, Steve Banks, stretchered off with a knee injury.

"It was unfortunate for Steve and for Bradford," Allardyce added. "But our chief scout, Jack Chapman, went to watch the game and his view was that when he comes back in four or five games' time, Delroy will be as ready as he's been at any stage, having come through his unfortunate illness."
