SCHOOL exams have become an "almost unmanageable burden" on teachers and pupils, says a Merseyside headmistress.
Carole Evans, of Birkenhead High School, said "far too much time" was spent coaching pupils to take tests.
Mrs Evans told delegates at the Girls' Schools Association conference in Manchester that teachers should conduct more of the assessment themselves.
