A 24-year-old man charged with the murder of a student who died after being attacked during a night out with friends was remanded in custody when he appeared in court today .
Christopher Kelly, of St John's Street, Pendlebury, Salford, Greater Manchester, was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on November 27.
He made no application for bail.
The student, Daniel Davies, 19, of Knowsley, Merseyside, suffered a head injury in the attack, which happened in Manchester city centre on November 2.
