IT was such a lovely feeling to read of the rescue of the dog Max from its blazing home.
We hear of so many stories nowadays of mindless, wanton, needless cruelty to faithful, loveable animals, not only by grown ups but often by young tearaways and hooligans who should, but don't, know right from wrong.
I often think that anyone found guilty of such barbarous debts should be made to suffer similar fates, but the laws in this country have been far too soft for far too long. I believe it is way behind time that these laws were brought up to date and the culprits made to suffer.
My heartfelt good wishes to PC John Smith on a fine job well done. News of this calibre is always welcome, but oh so scarce these days.
