I DON'T believe that the council is being quite honest about the Water Place.
I don't think that the answers have been given to some of the questions.
It is said that £4.5m is needed to repair, renew and update it. How was that figure arrived at? Did it go out to tender or was it an educated guess? What would we have got for that -- a gold plated pool?
It was stated that Bolton needs a swimming pool, and Moss Bank Park or Queens Park was suggested as possible sites. What's wrong with Winter Hill as a site?
Why look for a site when we already have one, or has the Water Place site already been given a nod, nod, wink, wink for something else, a petrol station perhaps?
If the Water Place was knocked down, could the site not be used as a temporary car park for the four years the council says it would need to find the money to build a new swimming pool, then there would be no need to look for a site as they could use the original site.
