THE Lions had to overcome the best team that they had faced all season to maintain their unbeaten run. David Parkinson and man of the match Andrew Newton where both influential with a brace of tries apiece. Lions won with conversions by Jayden Sandford, Mark Scholes, Ben Fairhurst and James Haydock.

LIONS never really looked like losing after man of the match, Thomas Richardson opened the Lions' tally with a great try while coaches' award winner, Peter Wright scored twice with further tries from Jack McLeish, Sean Smyth, Elaine Jones, Matthew Meehan and Alex Farnworth.

THE Lions were hit by the absence of four regular players suffering their first defeat of the season. Their problem was goal kicking, both sides scoring five tries but while St Maries converted three of theirs, the Lions failed to land one. Man of the match, Alex Davidson scored four tries Daniel Smyth scoring the other.

STEPHEN Haydock equalised an earlier St Cuth's try only for the home team to score twice before the break. The Lions stopped tackling in the second half and St Cuth's scored at will, Haydock's second try the only consolation.
There were a few good
performances with Jamie Cloran being the Top Tackler. Patrick O'Brien
received the Coaches' Award for his excellent tackling and Adam Bradshaw
was the Most Improved Player.
