Marsden Trophy First round
Leigh RMI 1 Radcliffe Borough 0
NEIL Tolson scored the goal six minutes from the end of this lack-lustre affair that saw Leigh through to the second round of a competition nobody really wants to win writes STEVE BOTT
Leigh made six changes to the side beaten 4-0 at Barnet the previous Saturday and Radcliffe boss Kevin Glendon used the game to run the rule over two of his recent acquisitions, striker Will Archer and midfield man Steve Spencer.
Boro had the better of it in the first half and could have gone in at the break in front had Archer taken a couple of chances.
As the game wore on in the second half, Leigh looked the stronger side as they created several chances and Tolson eventually tucked one of them away in the 84th minute after turning Simon Kelly on the edge of the penalty area.
