VILLAGERS in Withnell and Brinscall are to be asked for their views about a new park.
Plans have been put forward to create a play and recreation space in Brinscall by Withnell Parish Council.
Environmental organisation Groundwork Wigan and Chorley has been commissioned to find out just what people would like.
Some of the improvements proposed for the land, between Heather Lea Drive and Withnell Linear Park, include tree planting, opening up the land for visitors, seating, wildflower meadows, bog gardens and mini amphitheatre.
Three draft designs have been drawn up by Groundwork and questionnaires are available at the post office, Brinscall St John's School and the sports club.
The designs are in the post office window. The closing date for returning the questionnaires is December 17.
The land is owned by Chorley Council, who will also be involved. Grants will be sought to carry out the scheme.
Alison Whitehead, senior project officer for Groundwork who is managing the project, said: "We hope there will be something for everyone in the proposals.
