POLICE today renewed their appeal for information after an armed robber terrified staff and shoppers when he burst into an off-licence brandishing a handgun.
The man fled Bargain Booze in Talbot View, Euxton, with £200 cash and 500 cigarettes.
There were three people in the shop when the man walked in around 9.15pm on Monday, November 18.
A member of staff managed to slip out to raise the alarm and the robber ran off towards Balshaw Lane.
Police said the raider was white and wearing a green jacket, tracksuit bottoms and a home-made balaclava.
Detective Constable Trevor Pollard of Chorley Police said: "We don't know exactly how the man got away from the scene.
"He may have had a car waiting or have escaped on foot. It was obviously a horrible experience for everyone in the shop and we're very keen to catch whoever did it.
"We'd like to appeal for witnesses who saw the incident or anyone who knows anything about the robbery."
Discount beer chain Bargain Booze, which has three shops in Chorley, refused to comment.
Police are anxious to catch this man so if you have any information, please call Chorley police on 01257 269021 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
